Regional Capability Community Fund Round 5 – NOW OPEN
The Regional Capability Community Fund (RCCF) Round 5 provides $500,000 in State Government funding to support eligible South Australian landholders to improve farm firefighting capability, safety and preparedness.
Round 5 (2026–27) of the RCCF will continue to support South Australian farmers, farming businesses and rural landholders to purchase eligible equipment that strengthens local fire response capability and supports safer use of Farm Fire Units in line with CFS guidance.
Applications open on 15 August 2026 and close on 18 September 2026. Late applications will not be accepted. Applicants may apply for reimbursement from one funding stream only: Farm Fire Unit (FFU), Safety Equipment or Other Equipment.
Eligible applicants
In line with the intent of the program, applications will be accepted from:
- individual farmers
- farming businesses or rural landholders
- applicants must have current FFU registration and provide evidence as part of their application.
Important note:
Applicants must not have received RCCF funding in the previous two rounds and must submit proof of current FFU registration with their application.
Eligible items applied for in the application must be intended purchases and not items already purchased. Applicants may apply under one funding stream only.
Funding streams and eligible equipment
Applicants may apply under one funding stream only. Round 5 funding is available for the following equipment categories:
- Farm Fire Unit (FFU): eligible items include new FFUs that align with CFS guidance and meet relevant South Australian requirements. The maximum reimbursement is $5,000 per successful applicant.
- Safety Equipment: eligible items include heat shields, woollen fire blankets, rotating amber beacons, first aid kits with burns kits, and fire-rated personal protective clothing. The maximum reimbursement is $1,000 per successful applicant.
- Other Equipment: eligible items include hose and/or branch, water pumps, water tanks with a minimum capacity of 400 litres and a fill point, and UHF/CB radios. The maximum reimbursement is $1,000 per successful applicant.
Trailer units are discouraged due to fireground mobility, manoeuvrability and safety considerations. Community Firefighting Water Tanks are not eligible under Round 5.

Applications for RCCF Round 5 must be submitted online. Ensure all required information and supporting documentation is included before the closing date.
