Truck fire at Moorlands - 6 July 2026
Three CFS trucks carrying 12 volunteers responded to a Triple Zero call to attend a truck fire at 5:20pm on the Mallee Highway, at Moorlands, approximately 50 kilometres east of Murray Bridge.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found a B-double truck, which was transporting carrots, on fire.
The vehicle’s driver had evacuated the prime mover and uncoupled it from the trailers.
CFS volunteers ensured fire damage was limited to one trailer, with damage estimated at $80,000.
SA Ambulance Service provided support on scene.
Firefighters will remain on site into the evening to ensure the fire is completely extinguished.
