Truck fire at Holder - 17 September 2026
Six trucks carrying approximately 27 firefighters responded to Triple Zero to attend a truck fire at 2.20 am on the Sturt Highway at Holder, east of Waikerie, in the state’s Riverland.
Upon arrival firefighters found a truck, which was carrying potato chips, on fire.
The driver had detached the prime mover ahead of the CFS volunteers’ arrival.
Firefighters, utilising Breathing Apparatus, continue to manage the fire and the Sturt Highway remains closed.
Damage to the trailers is estimated at $600,000.
The cause is yet to be determined, with fire investigators to attend.
