Truck and Train Collision at Middleton - 14 June 2023
Four SA CFS crews have attended an incident involving a truck and passenger train colliding at a railway crossing at Peterson Road, Middleton, around 10.25am this morning.
The train carrying 15 passengers has partially derailed on impact, with all occupants including the driver now safely off the train. SA Ambulance Service are attending to some occupants, including the train driver, who have sustained minor injuries.
The truck, which was transporting soil, has overturned causing a combination of diesel fuel and hydraulic fluid to leak out onto the road.
Peterson Road is closed to all traffic from Goolwa Road to Airport Road until the area is safe for road users.
CFS crews with the support of State Emergency Service, SA Police and SA Ambulance Service will remain on scene until the area is made safe.
