Structure fire - Langhorne Creek - 10 August 2026

Last night, at around 11pm, CFS volunteer firefighters responded to a structure fire at Langhorne Creek, east of Strathalbyn on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The sole occupant rang Triple Zero (000) after arriving home to discover the single-storey farmhouse fully involved in fire.

Approximately 25 firefighters on 4 trucks with 2 bulk water carriers and 2 support vehicles arrived to find the house significantly impacted by fire with the roof collapsed.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading beyond the structure.

Unfortunately, the house was completely destroyed with damages estimated at $650,000.

Crews will remain on scene to monitor for hotspots and ensure the fire is completely extinguished.

SA Police and SA Ambulance provided support and Fire Investigators will attend.
