Structure fire at Narrung - 2 October 2026
This morning, CFS firefighters attended a structure fire at Narrung, between Lake Alexandrina and Lake Albert in the Murray and Mallee region.
Around 30 firefighters on 6 trucks supported by 2 bulk water carriers and 2 support vehicles, arrived to find the home fully involved in fire.
Thanks to their quick and skilled response, firefighters contained the fire to the home and saved a caravan and neighbouring properties.
Due to structural collapse, crews in breathing apparatus are working defensively to extinguish the fire and will remain on scene for some time.
All occupants of the home self extricated before crews arrived, however, 2 patients were transported by SA Ambulance for smoke inhalation.
Unfortunately, one pet dog was also lost in the fire.
The home was a complete loss with damages estimated at $250,000.
SA Police and SA Power Networks also provided support on scene and Fire Investigators will attend.
