Structure fire at Flaxman Valley - 16 August 2026

CFS crews were called to a structure fire at a residential property in Flaxman Valley of the eastern Barossa Valley early this morning.

Approximately 15 CFS firefighters responded to a fire in the roof space of the building that is believed to have originated from the combustion fire unit.

The quick and effective actions of crews in breathing apparatus (BA) contained the fire within the roof space, close to its source, preventing further spread within the property.

Damage is estimated at approximately $50,000; however, the potential for significantly greater damage was substantial had the fire not been contained promptly.

The property occupant self-evacuated prior to the arrival of fire crews arrived no injuries have been reported. SAPOL supported crews on scene.
