Structure fire at Barmera July 10

Just before 4pm, three CFS crews were called to a shed fire on the Sturt Highway at Barmera in the Riverland.

The owner was burning off nearby grass when the fire spread to the 30 by 50 metre shed. The owner managed to extinguish the fire before CFS arrived, but crews used breathing apparatus and thermal imaging cameras to detect and extinguish any hot spots.

The estimated damage bill is $50,000 and there are no reported injuries.
