Shed fire at Taratap - Friday 15 October

Shortly after midday on Friday 15 October, CFS crews were alerted to a shed fire on the Princes Highway in West Range, Taratap.

Four CFS trucks, 20 volunteer CFS firefighters and two bulk-water carriers responded to the call where they found a farm shed, roughly 10 metres  x 12 metres in size, fully alight.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the shed, but the structure and its contents were lost.

It’s believed the shed housed farming tools, welders, a tractor, solar panels as well as shearing equipment.

No occupants present at the time.

Total damages are expected to be between $150,000-$200,000.

The cause is yet to be determined and Fire Cause Investigators have been requested to attend the scene.
