Shed fire at Cudlee Creek - 1 October 2021

At 6:17 this morning CFS crews were alerted to a shed fire in Redden Drive, Cudlee Creek by 000 callers reporting popping sounds and smoke coming from an industrial shed.

Seven CFS crews arrived to find a fire burning through the 15x30m shed.

Crews quickly set about protecting three nearby homes and attempting to extinguish the fire and were able to remove a caravan and recreational vehicle from the shed before either were affected by the fire.

The fire was contained to an office section, with crews currently extinguishing hotspots.

After confirmation that a laser cutting machine was damaged in the fire, damages have been estimated to be $300,000.

Fire cause investigators will attend the scene later today to attempt to determine a cause.
