House fire at Williamstown - Sunday 5 September

At around 4pm on Sunday 5 September, CFS crews were alerted to a structure fire on Needles Road, Williamstown.

Six CFS trucks with approximately 30 volunteer firefighters, along with 1 MFS truck, responded to the call where on arrival they found a single story domestic residence with smoke coming from one of the rooms.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire within 40 minutes preventing it from spreading to the rest of the house, but the residence will still be impacted by significant smoke damage.

Estimated damages are more than $40,000.

A fire cause investigator will attend the scene tomorrow morning.
