House fire at Wasleys- 6 May

At 12:40 this afternoon CFS crews were called to a house fire at Wasleys, North West of Gawler.

25 volunteers across 4 trucks and a bulk water carrier responded and arrived to find a house engulfed in flames.

Crews worked hard to prevent the fire from spreading to adjoining structures on the property, but unfortunately the house was unable to be saved, causing around $150,000 in damage.

CFS were supported by SA Ambulance Service, with one firefighter being assessed on the scene by paramedics, before being transported to hospital as a precautionary measure.

CFS volunteers will remain at the incident mopping up into this evening.

The CFS thanks those members of the community who supported their firefighting efforts, using hoses from adjoining properties to help extinguish the fire from a safe distance.

The cause of the fire is unknown with SA Police’s Fire Cause Investigators attending the scene.
