House fire at Hardwicke Bay - 27 June 2026
At 12:20 pm, CFS firefighters responded to a house fire at Hardwicke Bay on the western coast of Yorke Peninsula.
Around 35 CFS firefighters attended, working alongside SA Police, SA Ambulance Service and SA Power Networks.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus arrived to find one house fully involved in fire and worked to contain the blaze. A second house sustained damage to the side wall.
The first house has been destroyed, with a tractor and boat also damaged in the fire. Fortunately, no one was home at the time.
Emergency services will remain on scene for some time to extinguish hotspots and ensure the area is safe.
Losses are estimated at approximately $800,000.
