House fire at Angaston 19 May 2020

At around this 6.47pm this evening the CFS were alerted to a house fire at Golden Gate Mines Road, Angaston.

Seven CFS fire trucks and 30 volunteer firefighters responded and found the stone cottage fully involved upon arrival.

Firefighters managed to contain the fire with the structure still standing, however severely damaged.

Approximate dollar assessment of damage is $200,000 to $250,000 damage.

The cause of the fire is believed to be from lightning and was advised by neighbours and occupants that a loud bang and flash consistent with lightning strike hit the house.
