House destroyed by fire in Port Willunga

At 12:32 this afternoon the CFS was alerted to a house fire and sounds of explosions via multiple calls to triple zero.

Crews arrived to find the home fully alight.

In total five fire trucks and a bulk water carrier attended the scene, with 18 firefighters defending three adjoining homes and several vehicles while attempting to extinguish the fire.

The home was fully destroyed, with extensive damage done to an adjoining shed.

Two boats in the shed were partially damaged by the fire.

Losses have been estimated at more than $250,000.

At this stage the cause for the fire is unknown, with fire cause investigators to currently on site.
