HAZMAT at Kingston SE Service Station -
Thursday night on the 20th April, at around 8:30pm, CFS crews responded to a hazard material incident at the On The Run Service Station at Kingston South East in the Limestone Coast.
A gas leak had been detected in LPG storage and staff from the service station and the neighbouring Ampol were safely evacuated.
The crews swiftly worked in specialists PPE, investigated and isolating the leak which was part of the sites storage of gas.
CFS crews on 6 trucks, 1 bulk water carrier and specialist HAZMAT equipment worked for some time to ensure the leak was sealed until a permanent fix can be implemented later today.
Crews were assisted by SAPOL and SAAS during the incident.
There were no reports of any injury and the cause is attributed to mechanical breakdown.
