Wednesday, October 30 at 9:50am:

About 2:15 afternoon yesterday CFS crews were called to a hay fire on Adams Plain Road, Wallaroo Plain.

Crews worked to contain the fire to the haystack and shed, and will continue to extinguish the fire today to prevent it spreading to nearby crop.

The damage bill is expected to be about $20,000.

Meanwhile seven CFS crews were this morning called to another hay shed fire on Wenhams Road at Jamestown.

The shed and hay inside have been destroyed causing approximately $500,000 damage.
