Hay shed fire at Tumby Bay - 4 Nov 2020

At 11:45 this morning CFS crews were alerted to a shed fire at Thuruna Road, Tumby Bay.

Three CFS fire trucks, supported by a CFS bulk water carrier, arrived to find a shed approximately 40m by 20m ablaze.

The shed contained approximately 700 bales of hay, a loader and a diesel storage tank.

The fire is creating a large smoke plume that is currently drifting over the Tumby Bay township, with residents advised stay inside until the smoke eases.

Crews will remain on the scene of the fire for several days, as the contents of the shed are removed and extinguished.

The shed and contents value is estimated to be between $800,000 to $900,000.
