Just after 7am this morning CFS fire crews were called to a house fire just outside Glossop in the Riverland.

The occupants of the house were able to extinguish the fire; when fire crews arrived they assisted to secure and ventilate the home to prevent further damage which was limited to a bedroom.

Occupants inside the house escaped without serious injury.

Three appliances and a bulk water carrier attended the incident which included an MFS crew.

The fire is believed to have been started from a bar heater being knocked over by a pet dog while the residents where not in then room.

Just a timely reminder to be mindful when using a heater and ensure it is not left on if you are not in attendance.
