Foul Bay Home Destroyed by Fire

 

Just after 2000hrs tonight Country Fire Service firefighters were responded to reports of a fire in a home at Foul Bay on the Yorke Peninsula.

Called in by the occupant, on arrival to the South Coast Road property, firefighters found the home well alight and quickly responded more trucks to assist with extinguishing the blaze and providing extra water due to the limited supply in the area.

Firefighting efforts were made difficult due to the amount of scrub within close proximity to the home.

Approximately 30 firefighters responded on six fire trucks and one bulk water carrier, despite efforts by all crews the steel clad home was fully destroyed.

Initial dollar damage has been estimated at $300 000, the cause of the fire is yet to be determined with Fire Cause Investigators responding tomorrow morning.

Local SA Police and SA Ambulance Service were also on scene, there were no reports of injuries.
