Fire at Tantanoola in the state's Lower South East - 7 Oct 2017
SA Country Fire Service Firefighters were responded to reports of a fire at the Kimberly Clark Factory, Glens Road Tantanoola just before 0730am this morning.
On arrival the more than 16 firefighters from four appliances found a 5m x 10m recycling pile containing approximately 5 tonne of product alight and producing large amounts of smoke.
Firefighters quickly got to work, some wearing breathing apparatus, to pull the pile apart with assistance from the factories loaders and began wetting the pile down.
The fire was brought under control in just over 30 minutes, crews will remain on scene for the next 45 minutes to ensure the pile has been cooled before handing back to Kimberly Clark.
At this time the cause of the fire is undetermined.
No one was injured in the fire.
