Fire at Stockyard Plains - Sturt Highway Closed - 15 October

Monday, October 15 at 2.10pm 
SA Country Fire Service (CFS) and Department for Environment and Water (DEW) are currently attending an incident at Stockyard Plains, 18 kilometres west of Waikerie in the Riverland. 

Currently eight firefighting crews are on the scene trying to control the fire, which is burning in scrub and grassland. 

The Sturt Highway has been closed by SA Police and traffic diverted away from this area. It’s likely the highway will be closed until about 6 o’clock this eve 2018-10-15 Ali Martin
