Currency Creek - November 19, 2017

Sunday November 19, 4:20pm:

At 2:59 on Sunday afternoon the CFS received a phone call regarding a fire burning at Adelaide Place, Currency Creek.

Four fire trucks, supported by a bulk water carrier, and 24 CFS personnel from the Currency Creek, Middleton and Goolwa brigades arrived at the scene to find a fire burning freely in grass and stubble.

Crews quickly brought the fire under control, limiting the damage to 5 acres, and protecting a house and a shed that were in the fire's path.

The fire was caused by a burn-off that had escpaed due to windy conditions.

The CFS advises residents to take extra care when burning off, with many areas on the cusp of the Fire Danger Season.
