$80,000 Shed fire at Cockatoo Valley - 19 October 2023
CFS crews saved a home and neighbouring properties after a shed caught alight on The Barracks in Cockatoo Valley.
15 firefighters arrived at the property just 15 minutes after being alerted to the shed fire. They contained the blaze to the corner of the structure, saving additional contents stored within the shed including a car. A reported explosion before crews arrived blew off the side wall. The fire also damaged a mower and second car also being stored within the shed. The damage bill is estimated at $80,000.
Thankfully no injuries have been recorded. The cause is currently unknown and fire investigators have been called to the scene.
