$350,000 house fire at Burton - 9 October 2021

At 1:00pm this afternoon CFS crews were alerted to a house fire in Alan Crescent, Burton, in Adelaide’s northern suburbs by several 000 callers reporting a large amounts of smoke coming from the roof of a house.

Three CFS and three MFS firetrucks arrived to find the home and attached garage on fire.

Crews were hindered by a large fence, operational solar panels and oxygen and oxy acetylene cylinders in the fire, with neighbouring homes evacuated due to the risk of the cylinders exploding.

Crews were able to contain the fire within 50 minutes of arrival, and protect neighbouring properties.

The home was destroyed, with damages estimated to be $350,000.

Fire cause investigators will attend the scene later today to attempt to determine the cause.
