$300,000 structure fire at Jamestown - 23 August 2023

At approximately 11:30 pm, five CFS crews were called to a structure fire at a unit complex in South Terrace, Jamestown.

Upon arrival firefighters found a unit at the front of the complex to be completely destroyed by flames. The fire also caused total loss of a car parked in the driveway with a second car also sustaining damages. Quick work from crews contained the blaze in approximately 30 minutes, limiting the fire from spreading to the neighbouring unit which has only received smoke damage. The total estimated damage costs for the complex is $300,000.

Two occupants were taken to hospital due to shock and smoke inhalation. The cause is currently unknown. Fire cause investigators have been called to the scene and SA Police are already on scene.

CFS volunteers will remain on scene into the early hours of this morning.
