3 Storey Structure Fire at Munno Para (13 October 2018)

At 4.45 this afternoon, firefighters from the CFS and MFS were dispatched to a three storey structure fire on the corners of Curtis and Peachey Roads, Munno Para. The top two storeys used for residential purposes and the ground floor for commercial.

Seven CFS fire trucks, supported by six MFS fire trucks, including an aerial appliance responded to the scene.

On arrival crews found the property well involved in fire, which was penetrating the upper storey roof.

52 firefighters worked together to assist two residents to escape from one of the upper storeys and search the rest of the building to ensure that all occupants had been safely evacuated.

Crews are still working at the scene and road closures are in place around the incident.

Fire Cause investigators will be attending the scene but early estimates are that the blaze has caused approximately $2M damage.

Further details will be provided by the CFS when they are known.
