$100,000 structure fire at Springton Primary School
At approximately a quarter past 6 this morning, 4 CFS trucks with 20 firefighters responded to a fire in the roof space of one of the buildings at Springton Primary School on Ferdinand Street.
Crews managed to quickly contain the fire and stop it from spreading into three adjoining transportable classrooms, which would have incurred damages in excess of half a million dollars.
The damage bill to the roof, insulation and electrical wiring has been placed at approximately $100,000 and State Emergency Services are assisting in tarping the roof.
Fire cause investigators and SAPOL are on the scene trying to determine the cause of the fire.
