Structure fire at Tailem Bend - 1 November 2026

This evening at around 10.30pm, CFS firefighters responded to reports of a house fire at Tailem Bend, in the state’s Murraylands.

Approximately 20 firefighters on 5 trucks and a bulk water carrier found the two-storey home well involved in fire.

The property’s occupants self-evacuated before crews arrived and, on arrival, firefighters saved some puppies living in the home. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Thanks to their skilled response, firefighters in breathing apparatus contained the fire to the kitchen, bathroom, and exterior of the house.

However, due to extensive damage to the house and its exterior, damages are estimated at $100,000.

SA Police and SA Ambulance provided support on scene and Fire Investigators will attend.
