Structure fire at Cummins - 29 January 2026
Around 4.30pm, 10 CFS volunteer firefighters on 2 trucks responded to a house fire at Cummins on the Eyre Peninsula.
Crews were able to quickly contain the fire, which is believed to have started in a front bedroom, and stopped it from spreading to neighbouring properties.
Thanks to their skilled response, firefighters in breathing apparatus prevented the fire from completely engulfing the house.
Crews were also able to save some contents for the property owners who were not home at the time of the fire.
Unfortunately, the house has significant smoke and fire damage with damages estimated around $500,000.
SA Police and SA Ambulance provided support on scene.
The cause is undetermined and Fire Investigators will attend.
