Structure fire at Brentwood - 5 August 2025

Five CFS trucks and a command car carrying approximately 20 firefighters responded to a fire in a house at 4:10pm on Minlacowie Road at Brentwood, 10 kilometres south west of Minlaton on the state’s Yorke Peninsula.

Upon arrival, CFS volunteers found a fully involved fire in a newly inhabited, five-bedroom, single-storey home.

The property owners were not home at the time of the fire, which was reported to Triple Zero by a neighbour.

Firefighters fought the blaze for several hours but were unable to prevent significant damage to the home’s roof.

Fire Cause has been contacted, with a damage value yet to be determined but expected to be significant.

Support to CFS volunteers was provided by SA Police, SA Ambulance Service and SA Power Networks, while a local electrician was also on hand.

The incident concluded at 7pm.
