Vehicle fire at Onkaparinga Hills - 30 April 2025
Four CFS and MFS trucks with approximately 20 firefighters are working to extinguish a car and motorcycle fire which has caught alight on Hepenstal Road in Onkaparinga Hills, south of Adelaide.
The fire is believed to have started due to petrol catching alight that had been used to fill up the motorcycle. The fire extended to the car and motorcycle causing an estimated $80,000 of damage.
Thankfully no one was in the car when the fire started and no injuries have been recorded at this time. Firefighters have extinguished the fire before it could spread to the nearby shed.
Petrol is highly flammable and CFS encouraged anyone needing to transport petrol to proceed with caution and ensure it is contained in a tightly sealed container limiting the risk of spillages.
