Truck fire in Yamba - 23 July 2025

Just before midday, firefighters were called to a B-double truck which had caught alight just after crossing the border to enter South Australia. The truck, carrying laundry detergent, has been significantly damaged with the prime mover and first trailer impacted. 

CFS and MFS jointly responded to this incident with approximately 8 trucks and 45 firefighters attending the scene. Firefighters managed to save the second trailer limiting the estimated damage amount to $450,000.

The fire caused smoke over the area and traffic delays. Police are on scene supporting. The cause is currently unknown. If driving in the area please drive to conditions and adhere to directions of emergency service personnel.
