Structure fire at Freeling - 20 December 2025

Four trucks carrying approximately 20 firefighters responded to a Triple Zero phone call at 7:10pm to attend a structure fire at Freeling in South Australia’s Barossa Light region.

The homeowner had arrived home to find their property alight and attempted to extinguish the fire with a garden hose but was unable to prevent its spread.

Upon arrival, CFS volunteers found a fire that had started in the home’s kitchen.

It took volunteer firefighters, including three utilising breathing apparatus equipment, half an hour to extinguish the fire.

The fire caused an estimated $400,000 worth of damage.

SA Police and SA Power Networks provided support at the scene, while fire investigators will be attending the property to determine the cause.
