Structure fire at Carpenter Rocks - 4 August 2025
Five trucks carrying 20 volunteer firefighters responded to a Triple Zero call about a shed fire at Carpenter Rocks, approximately 40 kilometres west of Mount Gambier in the state’s South East.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a shed fully involved in fire, with the blaze threatening a home on the property.
Two neighbouring homes located very close to the shed were also under threat.
Volunteer firefighters, using breathing apparatus and battling windy conditions took two hours to extinguish the fire.
Unfortunately, the fire caused $150,000 damage to the shed, which was destroyed.
However, firefighters saved the home on that property and those belonging to the neighbours resulting in $1million prevented losses.
SA Police and SA Ambulance provided support and Fire Cause have been contacted.
Volunteers remain on site to make the property safe.
