Sheringa structure fire - 12 February 2026

Seven trucks carrying approximately 30 firefighters responded to Triple Zero to attend a structure fire at 9:20 am at a roadhouse at Sheringa on the Eyre Peninsula.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a semi-attached house on fire, with flames threatening to spread to the nearby business.

The occupants had exited the property uninjured and firefighters were immediately able to focus their attentions on preventing the fire’s spread.

The fire took three hours to control, with firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and utilising defensive techniques.

The house was destroyed, resulting in $500,000 damage.

However, the firefighters’ great work prevented the fire from spreading to the roadhouse or its associated petrol and LPG assets.

Support was provided by SA Police, SA State Emergency Services and SA Power Networks.

Fire Investigators are attending.
