Shed Fire at Meadows in the Adelaide Hills

At 2.15pm on Saturday 13 October 2018, after receiving a triple zero call from the property owner, the CFS were dispatched to a shed fire in the Adelaide Hills.

Four fire trucks supported by two bulk water carriers responded to the Claren Road, Meadows property.

On arrival, firefighters found the 40 x 20 metre shed well involved in fire which had spread to two nearby shipping containers.

24 firefighters, including six wearing breathing apparatus, took approximately 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

SAPOL Fire Cause Investigators have determined that the blaze was started by gerry cans of fuel housed near a generator, that was positioned alongside the shed.

The shed and one of the shipping containers, including all contents, was lost in the blaze and although the second container sustained some fire damage, it was saved.

Nobody was injured in the blaze and it’s estimated that the fire caused approximately $30k damage.
