Shed fire at Jupiter Creek - 21 May 2025
CFS volunteer firefighters responded to a structure fire on Smith Road at Jupiter Creek, near Echunga in the Adelaide Hills, just before 12:30am this morning.
Volunteer firefighters on 5 trucks arrived at the property to find a fire in a shed. The shed containing a dog transportation trailer and several large bales of hay were destroyed. Crews successfully contained the fire quickly, stopping it from spreading to other nearby sheds.
The cause of the fire is believed to be a burn off that had escaped earlier in the day, which had not been completely extinguished and continued to smoulder, eventually reaching the shed and its contents. Total losses are estimated at $40,000.
Crews will remain on scene for some time, ensuring any hot spots are extinguished and the scene is made safe.
A member of the public was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
SA Police, SA Ambulance Service and SA Power Networks were on scene.
