Semi-trailer fire at Kimba - 12 February 2022
At 1:15 this afternoon CFS crews were alerted to a fire in a semi-trailer 4kms South West of Kimba on the Eyre Highway.
Volunteers on six trucks and the Port Lincoln HAZMAT brigade, with assistance from SAAS and SAPOL attended.
Volunteer firefighters from Kimba, Port Lincoln and Wuddina wearing breathing apparatus, worked to extinguish the semi-trailer, which was fully engulfed. The truck was destroyed.
Crews are still working on extinguishing a shipping container on the truck, which contains office furniture.
The damage bill is estimated to be well over $50,000.
