House fire in Monarto - 29 June 2025
Shortly after 5:00 pm, CFS volunteer firefighters were called to a house fire at Monarto, in the state's Murray River region.
Twenty-five CFS firefighters in 6 trucks responded, working alongside the Metropolitan Fire Service, SA Police, SA Power Networks, and SA Ambulance Service.
Fortunately, no one was home at the time. The occupant’s dogs have been accounted for and are safe.
Thanks to the crew’s quick and skilled response, 2 caravans next to the home were saved from the fire.
Volunteer firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using positive-pressure fans to ventilate the structure. Crews will remain on site for some time to ensure all hot spots are fully extinguished.
The estimated damage is $300,000 and the house has been destroyed. Fire Investigators have been called to the scene.
