House fire in Loveday - 16 October 2025

Around 5:45 pm, CFS firefighters were called to a house fire in Loveday, located approximately 40 km north-west of Loxton.

Sixteen firefighters on 4 trucks responded to the house fire, working alongside the SA Police and SA Ambulance Service. Fortunately, no occupants were home at the time.

Volunteers wearing breathing apparatus used defensive tactics to save a shed containing a car.

Crews will remain on site for some time to ensure any remaining smouldering areas are fully extinguished.

The fire caused an estimated $225,000 in damages, and Fire Investigators have been notified.
