House fire at Mt Barker 11 June 2019

At 1:31 this afternoon CFS crews received 000 calls regarding an activated smoke alarm and smoke being seen coming from a garage and house.

Five CFS firetrucks responded to the calls and arrived to find a carport ablaze with the fire spreading into the adjoining house.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and protect neighbouring houses.

The home was extensively burned in the fire with damages estimated to be approximately $300,000.

The cause of the fire is currently not determined, with Fire Cause Investigators on site soon.
