House fire at Lewiston - 8 September 2025
At approximately 4:20 am, around 40 CFS volunteers on 7 trucks from 5 brigades responded to a house fire at Lewiston, west of Gawler.
Crews arrived to find the house fully involved. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used defensive tactics to contain the blaze.
Through their efforts, crews successfully saved a shed and a caravan from the fire.
SA Power Networks, SA Police and SA Ambulance Service attended and provided support at the scene.
Crews will remain on site for several hours to ensure the fire is fully extinguished and the area is safe.
The house has been destroyed, with damage estimated at $150,000. Fire Investigators have been called to the scene.
