House fire at Gladstone - 15 March 2026
Five trucks and 25 volunteer firefighters responded to multiple telephone calls to Triple Zero to attend a structure fire at 5.50 pm at Gladstone in the state’s Mid North.
Upon arrival CFS firefighters found a fully involved fire that had started under the veranda of a house.
Unfortunately, an occupant of the house was injured in the incident, which was determined to have been started by a barbecue. The resident was transported to hospital by SA Ambulance Service.
The fire has proven challenging for the volunteer firefighters, who are wearing breathing apparatus.
One firefighter has been checked on scene for heat stress by SA Ambulance, and released without further treatment.
The volunteers have contained the blaze but are still working to fully extinguish it and will remain on scene for some time.
Damage to the property is estimated at $200,000.
