House fire at Balgowan - 16 June 2025

CFS and MFS firefighters were called to Old Dump Road at Balgowan on South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula just before 5 o'clock this evening.

Four CFS trucks and one bulk water carrier, supported by two MFS trucks, responded to the house fire, which was engulfed in flames.

Firefighters are continuing to work on extinguishing the fire and any hot spots to make the scene safe. It’s estimated they will remain on scene for several hours.
 
The occupant safely exited the house and was uninjured.

Total losses are estimated at up to $400,000 and fire investigators will attend the scene tomorrow to determine the cause.

Crews are being supported by SA Police and SA Ambulance Service.
