House fire at Andrews Farm duplex

At 12:15 this afternoon CFS and MFS crews were alerted to a house fire in a duplex at Andrews Farm.

Several 000 callers reported seeing smoke coming out of the roof of the property.

Three CFS and three MFS firetrucks arrived and found a fire burning in the kitchen of one of the homes in the duplex.

The crews worked together to quickly extinguish the fire and protect the adjoining home and nearby property.

No one was home at the premises.

Unfortunately the resident’s pet cat died in the fire.

Damaged caused from the fire and smoke is estimated to be in excess of $40,000.

Fire Cause Investigators will attend the scene to determine the cause of the fire
