Header fire at Wanilla
At 10:17am today, CFS Crews were called to a grass fire caused by a header, on Wylie Road, Wanilla, on the state’s Eyre Peninsula.
30 CFS volunteers on 7 trucks, supported by Farm Fire Units, attended and were able to quickly extinguish the fire with minimal spread.
The fire caused between $50,000 - $100,000 damage to the header.
Crews will remain on the scene to mop up and extinguish any hotspots, ahead of Friday’s predicted hot and windy weather conditions.
