Forestry machinery fire at Magarey - 9 February 2026
Shortly before 8:40 am, about 18 CFS firefighters responded to a forest machinery fire at Magarey, around 35 kilometres west of Millicent, which then spread to surrounding grass and pine branches.
They were supported by SA Police and Forest Industry Brigades.
Firefighters responded with 5 trucks and worked in the pine plantation to extinguish the fire.
Crews contained the fire to about 10 by 5 metres, preventing it from spreading to the surrounding pine forest.
The fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damage, and the forest machinery was destroyed.
