Fire at Woodcroft Doctor's Surgery - 22 August 2020

At just before 7 o’clock this morning the Country Fire Service and Metropolitan Fire Service attended a fire in a block of businesses on Sir James Hardy Way at Woodcroft.

On arrival, crews found the building well involved in fire. 30 firefighters from the CFS supported by 17 firefighters from the MFS worked quickly to contain the blaze and protect neighboring properties, bringing the fire under control in about 30 minutes.

The roof of the entire building complex and the foyer area of a Doctors surgery has been destroyed by the fire, with the adjoining hairdresser and dental surgery suffering extensive smoke damage.

SAPOL and Fire Cause Investigators are investigating the cause of the blaze and initial estimates indicate that the damage bill is $250,000.
