Crane fire at Mt Compass - 27 June 2023

At approximately 10.30am this morning, 4 CFS crews were called to a crane fire on Victor Harbor Road in Mt Compass.

The 30 tonne crane, travelling along the highway via a truck, caught fire in the engine. Crews managed to extinguish the fire quickly, stopping flames from spreading and causing any additional damage to the crane.

Diesel was spilt during the fire and is being cleared from the road. Crews remain on scene assisting with traffic control until the crane can be relocated.

SA Police have also been on scene.
